On October 20, Hank and Lucy turned three.
Three years old. Two very different personalities. Absolutely no plans to start taking direction.
Some birthdays call for a big speech. This one calls for a little love for the two bulldogs behind Hank & Lucy, and everything they represent: being yourself, moving at your own pace, and never apologizing for taking up a little space.
Hank: Three, and thoroughly unbothered.
If Hank were giving a birthday speech, we imagine it would be brief. Possibly just a shrug. Definitely followed by a nap.
That's Hank's whole philosophy: don't overthink it. Find your comfortable spot. Let the world make its noise. You don't have to join in.

Lucy: Three, and already has notes.
Lucy, on the other hand, would like to review the arrangements.
No speech necessary. Just a look. The kind that says she noticed every detail and will not be taking questions about her verdict.
Three looks good on her. Of course, she'd prefer you act like you already knew that.

Two dogs. Zero apologies.
Hank and Lucy are the heart of this little world we're building. One reminds us to relax. The other reminds us to have standards. Between them, that's a pretty good way to live.
So this birthday post isn't a sales pitch. It's a thank-you. To these two for being entirely, unmistakably themselves. And to you for being here, getting the joke, and making room for a little more bulldog energy in your life.
Happy third birthday, Hank and Lucy. Here's to another year of doing things your own way.
Hank would thank you for the birthday wishes, but he's gone back to sleep. Lucy has looked you up and down, that's her way of saying thank you..
